Thilini Nilanka Weerasooriya, Mrs

Graduate Teaching Assistant at Edge Hill University

Thilini Nilanka Weerasooriya is a second-year PhD student and a graduate teaching assistant (GTA) at Edge Hill University. She has more than eight years of teaching experience across diverse educational contexts. She holds a BA (Hons) in English and an MA in linguistics. Her doctoral research work, supervised by Dr David Allen, Dr Francis Farrell and Dr Christina Donovan, focuses on the lived experience of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) learning English in the UK. Her research is driven by a commitment to advancing policies and practices in refugee education that would foster inclusion and opportunities for marginalised student populations.
