We are delighted to announce the recipient of the 2026 Â鶹ÒùÔº Undergraduate Award, which recognises outstanding undergraduate research in education.

This year’s award is presented to Olivia Germaine for her thesis, Facilitating or Hindering? A Survey Exploring Extrinsic Emotion Regulation and Test Anxiety among University Students in the UK and Abroad.

The judging panel unanimously selected Olivia’s dissertation as the winning submission, praising it as “excellent and ambitious in its scope and scale for an undergraduate study.” Olivia completed her undergraduate thesis at Durham University.

Â鶹ÒùÔº is also pleased to recognise Lucy Bellini as the highly commended runner-up for her thesis, Exploring Barriers to Female Leadership in Primary Education , and for undertaking a well thought through and insightful qualitative educational research study which has collected rich data. Her thesis was completed at the University of Staffordshire.

The Â鶹ÒùÔº Undergraduate Award celebrates the very best undergraduate research and showcases the depth, originality and impact of student scholarship across the field of education.
