Jessica Eccles-Padwick completed her PhD studies under the supervision of Dr Clare Woolhouse, Dr Craig Collinson and Professor Fiona Hallett. She successfully defended her PhD thesis in 2025 and is currently working as a higher education progression adviser with Shaping Futures. As part of the Uni Connect programme, her work with Shaping Futures contributes to reducing the attainment and progression gaps between the most and least disadvantaged learners in the Liverpool City Region. Her doctoral thesis focused on the experiences of dyslexic students in their university library. Using photovoice and mobile methods, she and the participants identified barriers to engagement for students and proposed strategies for enhanced participation, accessibility and engagement. She also holds an Advance HE fellowship, an MRes and BSc (Hons) in psychology, and a PGCE in further education and training. Her research interests include accessibility in education, inclusion and social justice, creative methods and co-construction in research.
