Martin Hagan is Head of Education at St Mary’s University College, Belfast, where he leads the primary and secondary BEd programmes. Martin’s research focuses on Teacher Professional Learning (TPL). He has a publication record dating back to 2001 and has presented his work at regional, national and international conferences. Since 2014, Martin has worked with the Department of Education for Northern Ireland (DENI) and other key stakeholders, supporting the development and implementation of a new strategy for teacher education. The strategy crosses the boundaries from initial teacher education through to senior leadership, and has the potential to transform TPL in the region.
