Suparna completed her PhD in Education at the University of Plymouth, where she also worked as a Doctoral Teaching Assistant. Her doctoral research explored perceptions of multiculturalism in mainstream primary schools in southwest England. With a research interest in race, equity and social justice, she was previously a member of race equality associations within the university and continues to be involved in race equality work beyond the university. She served as a dignity and respect ambassador and student representative for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at the University of Plymouth. In 2022 and 2024, she received the EDI Award from her university. She is a trained Compassionate Community Ambassador, a mentor for the UN-recognised Virtues Project, a certified Community Champion and a trained Hinduism faith speaker. She has appeared regularly on BBC Radio Devon as a guest speaker and has published academic papers and delivered presentations nationally and internationally.
