Pauline Lyseight-Jones is a late-career early career researcher, having been awarded her EdD in 2017 after working in education for decades, as a teacher, inspector and an education consultant. After six years as a regional adviser with the National Strategies, the research for Pauline’s thesis was conducted while on a 30-month VSO/Unicef placement in Uganda. This research focussed on mentoring as a professional development strategy for primary teacher educators. Pauline currently has overall day-to-day responsibility for leading a programme, funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, on community cohesion in secondary schools in Milton Keynes; she leads on the research strand.
