Myrtle Emmanuel, Dr

Associate Professor in HRM & Organisational Behaviour at University of Greenwich

Dr. Myrtle Emmanuel is a Professor in HRM and Organisational Behaviour at the University of Greenwich, where she also serves as Academic Lead for Race Equity. She holds a PhD in Management from Henley Business School, focusing on graduate career management.

Her research explores Windrush Nurses’ experiences, African-Caribbean mental health disparities, and the BAME graduate employment gap. She leads the Decolonial Antiracist Pedagogies Group and co-developed an AHRC-funded inclusive mental health toolkit.

As Race Equity Lead, Dr Emmanuel has helped drive institutional change through the University’s Race Action Plan and Race Equality Charter submission. Her work focuses on closing the BAME awarding gap, inclusive curricula, and student-led initiatives

Recognised with the Inclusivity Champion Award (2021), Greenwich Excellence Staff Award (2023), and Highly Commended for Excellence in Education at the Black Talent Awards (2025), her research informs national policy and practice.

Myrtle Emmanuel's contributions
