Marc Wheeler, Mr

Headteacher at St Christopher’s Multi-Academy Trust

Marc Wheeler is a headteacher, special educational needs coordinator, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) specialist, and inclusion advisor within St Christopher’s Multi-Academy Trust. He is also director of Wheeler Education, an educational consultancy specialising in SEND research, specialist assessment, advice and training for schools and families across the UK.
Marc’s professional background spans primary education, school leadership, SEND strategy, inclusion, workforce development and contributions to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment processes. His work focuses on how educational systems recognise, assess and respond to need, particularly for children and young people with autism and other neurodevelopmental profiles.
His research interests include neurodevelopmental profiling, masking, participation, professional judgment in SEND decision-making, and the relationship between observable performance and underlying vulnerability. His work aims to bridge research and practice, supporting more equitable, preventative and sustainable approaches to inclusion.
