Call for abstracts
We invite you to submit an abstract (500 words) for a 10 minute paper which explores an element of your methodological thinking. In particular we welcome contributions that do one of the following:
- Critically examine positionality through methods. You might consider how your researcher identity, power relations, and disciplinary locations become visible in methodological choices, and ask how these shape knowledge production
- Examine creative and participatory methods, perhaps considering how ways these approaches disrupt conventional notions of rigour
- Explore ethical considerations in research, perhaps considering how ethics is lived and enacted in methods rather than resolved through procedural approval alone
- Present approaches to data analysis. This could include presentations of diverse approaches to data analysis; reflective accounts of working with creative data; or explorations of the tensions you have faced when translating data into academic arguments
Reviewing criteria
Submissions will be reviewing against the following criteria:
- Clarity of the focus of the research
- Clarity and justifications of methods and methodologies
- Depth of reflection on the making of the researcher
- Relevance of the issue to other doctoral researchers or ECRs
