Melanie is a Safeguarding and Student Welfare Officer in UK higher education, with a background in coaching and teaching in Further Education. She is currently undertaking a professional doctorate exploring agency and mattering for Black and Mixed women in UK higher education, with a central focus on creative methodologies. Central to Melanie's research is the notion of authenticity. She works hard to embody this through her own journey to show that there is no one correct way to 'be' a researcher.
