Hannah Abdullahi is the Research and Project Coordinator of the Empowerment 360: Moving Beyond Adversity Project at the University of East London. This is an initiative improve the wellbeing, and thereby, the retention of students by taking significant steps towards becoming a trauma-informed university. Hannah’s research focuses on empowerment using feminist, intersectional and decolonial frames.

Her research takes student’s experiences and realities as a starting point to identify innovative and sustainable practices to strengthen staff-student relationships to help students succeed within higher education. This research explores the co-creation of spaces with and for students, to give room to community building, self-consciousness, agency and voice within the University.
